Student's Council and Monitor System

The Student Council election at Guwahati Airport School was conducted with the objective of promoting leadership qualities, responsibility, and teamwork among students. The selection process involved both nomination and election phases to ensure fairness and transparency.

CRITERIA AND METHOD OF SELECTION OF STUDENTS’ COUNCIL

  • Eligibility: Students from senior grades with consistent academic performance, discipline, and active participation in school activities were eligible for nomination.

  • Nomination: Candidates were nominated by class teachers based on their leadership skills, communication abilities, and sense of responsibility.

  • Campaign and Voting: Shortlisted candidates presented their views and goals before their peers. The final selection was done through voting by students and staff members.

  • Appointment: The elected members were formally appointed in the school assembly and took a pledge to uphold the values and responsibilities of the council.

METHOD OF SELECTION OF CLASS MONITORS

We follow a unique and inclusive approach for selecting Class Monitors, believing that every child deserves the opportunity to lead. Method of Assignment:
  • The role of class monitor is rotated regularly to ensure each student gets a chance.

  • This approach instills leadership, responsibility, time management, and cooperation in every learner.

  • Monitors assist in maintaining discipline, coordinating classroom activities, and supporting their peers.

FUNCTIONS OF THE STUDENT’S COUNCIL

  • President and Deputy Council Members: To oversee student-related activities, represent student opinions, and assist in maintaining discipline and coordination across all school events.

  • House Captains and Vice-Captains: To lead their respective houses in various co-curricular and inter-house competitions, encourage teamwork, and foster a spirit of healthy competition.

  • Class Monitors: To assist class teachers in maintaining order, ensuring participation in activities, and representing their class in school discussions.

  • General Rules: All council members are expected to maintain exemplary conduct, uphold school values, and serve as role models for their peers.
